Tomasz Kacprzynski is an effective technology leader with over 16 years of experience architecting, engineering and operating networks. He started his first networking adventure in the enterprise networks working for SpenceStuart on their global network. In 2012 he completed his CCIE R&S certification #36159. Following that Tom moved on to a datacenter network working at Rackspace cloud provider, rebuilding their MPLS backbone. The next adventure was building a greenfield global MPLS backbone and datacenter infrastructure for a CDN at a startup called Vidscale. The latest adventure was Edge clouds networks, building networks deep within other SPs at Ericsson Edge Gravity.
He has proven ability to manage teams in a rapidly evolving environment with strict deadlines. At VidScale, he build the network engineering department from the ground up, responsible for deployment of over 20 POPs in a 8 month period.
Tom is an enthusiastic community volunteer of the Internet industry organizations such as NANOG and CHI-NOG. In 2014, he co-founded the Chicago Network Operators Group (CHI-NOG), the first regional NOG in North America. He is currently the organizer and the chair of the program committee. In 2018, Tom was elected to the NANOG Program Committee, and is currently serving his second term.
